MHP Celebrates Workers With More Than Just Pay
MHP is joining in the salute to the American worker and payroll professionals by participating in National Payroll Week, which coincides with the nation's Labor Day celebration.
There are 80 people employed at MHP who expect and demand that their paychecks be accurate and on time. National Payroll Week is a public awareness campaign that pays tribute to the more than 156 million people who work in the United States. National Payroll Week highlights the payroll professionals who support the American system by not only processing our employee wages, but also reporting earnings and withholding employment taxes, which keep America running smoothly.
With each and every check issued, our company payroll division is required by law to withhold the correct deductions for federal, state and local taxes. (American payroll professionals collect and report 70.5% of all federal revenues.)
"It is our job to ensure that each and every employee is paid accurately and on time." says Christy Klungness, our internal payroll processor. Alysha Wells, our personnel administrative assistant, gathers all new hire information to ensure all payroll related forms are completed correctly. Alysha and Christy work together to make sure our new hires are provided an accurate first paycheck.

In addition to our internal payroll processors, MHP has an Accounting Service department full of payroll specialists!
The Accounting Services Department is staffed with highly skilled professionals who are experts at meeting deadlines and answering client inquiries and who know all local, state and federal tax rules and regulations. It is the Accounting Services staff who shoulder the responsibility for paying our client's employees correctly - a task that is not as simple as it sounds.

"National Payroll Week was designed to honor payroll professionals, but also to celebrate all American workers, because they generate the revenue needed to maintain and continue to build this country," says Brenda Fernandez, our Accounting Services Department Supervisor.
National Payroll Week is spearheaded by more than 21,000 members of the American Payroll Association in partnership with federal and state agencies, NPW National Sponsors, local chambers of commerce, professional tax and human resource associations, and companies across the United States.
